WCDP sends $500 to Kasolwe, Uganda

Today we sent the second half of a generous donation from Joe and Janet to the Kasolwe community group, KaNaKi, to help them complete construction on a community school, the Green Courts Foundational School (GCFS).

The photo to the right is a Google Earth image of the school. It currently has most of its walls and iron sheet roof, which is protecting the brick walls from rain damage. The $500 donation is going to purchase cement and iron bars to complete the walls, and pay for the labor costs. The community will be donating the bricks, and sand will be obtained locally as well for mixing in with the concrete.

We will keep you updated once the funds have been spent and the school is completed. Our next goal for this school is to provide solar power for lighting, computers and a television for the school's use.
